1. Who We Are

MindBase is an online platform that connects individuals with independent, qualified therapists.

MindBase does not provide therapy or medical treatment. We facilitate introductions and bookings only.

Throughout these Terms:

  • “MindBase”, “we”, “us” refers to MindBase
  • “You” refers to the user or client
  • “Therapist” refers to independent practitioners listed on the platform

2. What MindBase Is (and Is Not)

MindBase is:

  • A platform to browse therapists
  • A booking and payment gateway for initial sessions
  • A service designed to make access to therapy easier

MindBase is not:

  • A therapy provider
  • A medical or mental health service
  • An emergency or crisis service

All therapy sessions are delivered directly between you and the therapist, outside of the MindBase platform (for example, via Google Meet or similar).

3. Emergency & Crisis Disclaimer

MindBase is not suitable for emergencies.

If you are in immediate danger, at risk of harming yourself or others, or in acute crisis, you should:

  • Contact emergency services (999 in the UK), or
  • Contact a crisis helpline (for example, Samaritans on 116 123)

By using MindBase, you acknowledge that it is not an emergency support service.

4. Eligibility

To use MindBase, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be legally capable of entering into an agreement
  • Provide accurate and honest information

MindBase reserves the right to refuse or terminate access if these conditions are not met.

5. Therapists on MindBase

All therapists listed on MindBase:

  • Are independent practitioners
  • Are responsible for their own:
  • Clinical decisions
  • Professional registration
  • Insurance
  • Record-keeping
  • Ethical and legal obligations

MindBase does not supervise, direct, or control therapists’ clinical work.

6. Booking & Sessions

  • Bookings are made through MindBase
  • Sessions take place online using third-party platforms
  • The content and outcome of therapy sessions are solely between you and the therapist

MindBase does not guarantee:

  • Specific outcomes
  • Therapist availability
  • Compatibility between client and therapist

7. Payments

Initial Session

  • Payment for the first session is processed through MindBase
  • Prices are clearly shown at the point of booking

Further Sessions

  • Any sessions after the first are arranged and paid for directly with the therapist
  • MindBase is not involved in future payment arrangements

8. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellation and refund terms for the first session will be clearly stated at booking
  • Late cancellations or no-shows may not be refunded
  • If a therapist cancels, you may be offered:
  • A rescheduled session, or
  • A refund, depending on circumstances

MindBase reserves the right to assess refunds on a case-by-case basis.

9. User Responsibilities

By using MindBase, you agree:

  • Not to misuse the platform
  • Not to provide false or misleading information
  • To engage respectfully with therapists

MindBase may suspend or terminate access if misuse occurs.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • MindBase is not liable for the actions, advice, or conduct of therapists
  • MindBase is not responsible for outcomes of therapy
  • MindBase is not liable for emotional distress, loss, or damages arising from therapy sessions

Use of MindBase is at your own discretion and risk.

11. Technical Issues

While we aim for reliability, MindBase is not responsible for:

  • Internet outages
  • Platform failures outside our control
  • Issues with third-party tools (for example, video platforms)

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the MindBase website, including text, branding, and logos, is owned by MindBase and may not be used without permission.

13. Changes to These Terms

MindBase may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on the website. Continued use of MindBase constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
